After arriving in the city of Lima, we’ll transfer you to your desired hotel. You can take the time to rest and prepare for the thrilling adventure that lies ahead of you. You’ll stay the night in Lima.
The next day, we’ll take you through some of the most attractive places in Lima, also known as the City of Kings. The tour includes visiting the Historic Center of Lima, a panoramic view of Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, Cathedral Basilica, Archbishop’s Palace, Municipal Palace, Santo Domingo Church, where the tombs of Santa Rosa and San Martin de Porres lie, and the balconies of Colonial Lima. Then, you’ll visit the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the largest monumental ensemble of Colonial Art in America and a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Additionally, we’ll also take you to visit Basilica with 21 altars, a convent with cloisters, chapters, clementine rooms. The monks’ choir and library, a site museum that exhibits 11 canvases from the Rubens school, the Sacristy with canvases from Surbaran and Rivera, the large patio decorated with 16th-century Sevillian tiles, Moorish arches, and underground catacombs. Then, we’ll visit the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing through the Huaca Pucllana, Ceremonial and Administrative Center of the Lima Culture, built in the 2nd century AD and considered by the Incas as Naupallaqta, meaning Sacred Town. We’ll also tour El Olivar de San Isidro park, with olive trees from Spain in the 15th century. The Central Park of Miraflores and Larcomar, a tourist and entertainment center, a symbol of Modern Lima, and a privileged point to appreciate a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Finally, if we have time left, we can participate in some fun activities. We’ll stay the night in Lima.
On day 3, at 6 AM, we’ll take you to the bus terminal. At 6:40 AM, we’ll leave for the city of Paracas through Cruz del Sur bus company. After 4 hours, at 10:40 AM, we’ll arrive in Paracas and begin the tour. At 11:00 AM, we’ll visit Paracas Natural Reserve. It’s a vast protected area located to the southwest of the city of Pisco. The name of this beautiful place is derived from a Quechua word meaning ‘sand rain’, due to the strong winds that the area receives in the afternoon. The Paracas reserve is essential for another reason. It has plenty of zooplankton and phytoplankton inhabitants in its waters, which, in turn, allows industrial and artisanal fishing. It’s a critical activity in the town of Pisco. The Paracas Reserve is located in an area of 335,500 hectares and is considered one of the most important ecosystems on the planet. You’ll see beautiful cliffs and beaches during our visit, including red beach, Yumaque beach, and Lagunilla. We’ll indulge in seafood in Lagunilla and take a refreshing bath. You’ll also witness groups of flamingos feeding on the shores of the sea. To catch them from up close, we’ll take a short walk to a small viewpoint. According to some historians, these birds inspired liberator San Martin to create the color of our red and white flag of Peru. After that, you can visit the interpretation center of the reserve, where you’ll learn about the marine flora and fauna of the Paracas Reserve. We’ll end the day at 3:00 PM. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon to rest or explore. We’ll stay the night in our hotel.
We’ll continue our All-In-One Peru Tour on day four by having breakfast at 08:00 AM. Then, we’ll depart for Crossbows Island. After that, we’ll visit the Paracas Peninsula, the most important wildlife sanctuary of the Peruvian Coast. Next, we’ll take a motorboat ride to the Ballestas Islands in the Paracas National Reserve, where you’ll observe sea lions, booby birds, pelicans, penguins, and other seabirds. On the way back, you’ll get to see Candelabro, a giant figure of the Nazca Lines style made in the sand. You’ll have some free time to take photos of the sea lions, seals, and seabirds. We’ll return to our hotel in the afternoon. You can spend that time doing personal shopping or any other activity. Then, at 11:00 AM, we’ll depart to the city of Nazca through Cruz del Sur, a transportation company. At 11:00 AM, we’ll arrive in the town of Nazca and transfer to the airport. From there, we’ll board a plane that will fly us over the mysterious Nazca Lines. They’re colossal line drawings of animals, birds, and geometric figures drawn in the desert that can only be appreciated from the air. We’ll spend the rest of the day there and return to Arequipa to our hotel at 08:00 PM.
On day 5, we’ll begin our Arequipa city tour at 02:00 PM. First, we’ll visit Plaza de Armas, one of the most beautiful places in Peru. Then, we’ll go to The Cathedral, an excellent example of Peruvian architecture during the 19th century that houses precious gold and silver treasures. We’ll also explore the Church of La Compania, an old Jesuit temple, perhaps the most important in Arequipa due to its history and tradition. It has a beautiful façade with columns carved with spirals, laurel wreaths, flowers, birds, etc. The next place on our journey will be the convent of Santa Catalina, a 17th century ‘little town’ opened to the public in the 1970s. It’s the perfect place to relive the past and imagine how life was four centuries ago. You’ll visit many spacious courtyards, gardens, kitchens, slave rooms, and the washhouses of the convent. Finally, we’ll return to our hotel around 05:00 PM.
The following day, having breakfast at 08:00 AM, we’ll start our journey to Yura to enter Pampa Canahuas, where we’ll observe the herds of vicunas on the back of Chachani, Misti, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. On day 8, we’ll have breakfast early in the morning and head out to the port from our hotel. We’ll board our motorboat and visit the floating islands of Los Uros, around 30 minutes away. After staying there for almost 40 minutes, we’ll go to the Natural Island of Taquile. The inhabitants of the island are fond of agriculture, crafts, and fishing. The locals still live according to their ancient Inca traditions and laws with the same religious rituals, such as Marriage (Sirvinacuy) and payment to the land (Pachamama). We’ll have lunch around noon. After having lunch, you’ll have two free hours to visit the artisan center of the town and take pictures with panoramic views. Later, we’ll return to Puno to our hotels to stay the night.
The 9th day of our All-In-One-Peru tour will begin in the morning when we’ll go to the city of Cusco. We’ll travel along the high Collao plateau, stopping in the town of Ayaviri, an important textile and husbandry center, to visit the impressive Kalasaya Temple, ruins of the ancient Pucara culture. On the way, we’ll make a stop at Rachi, where we can see a spectacular Inca sanctuary built by the Inca Pachacutec and dedicated to the great Inca God, Wiracocha. It has a large central wall with a stone base of fine Inca architecture. The other walls are made of giant adobe bricks. The structure also has two circular side columns. Around the temple, we’ll find several constructions once used as a house or warehouse. After almost 70 KMs, we’ll pass by the La Raya ranch, where we’ll see herds of vicunas and llamas. We’ll also pass by the charming Wacarpay Lake that offers spectacular views of the mountains being reflected in its calm waters during the trip.
